When we first started developing our own skincare we seriously questioned why we should use a serum when our moisturizer seemed to provide us with everything our skin needed. We were also much younger when we started this journey. After years of reformulating and testing on family and friends we discovered for ourselves that in fact the skin needs extra support by replenishing it with oils that resemble the skin's natural oils (sebum) produced by our sebaceous glands even people whose skin type produces too much sebum thus setting the stage for acne.
